Michigan State received a nice addition to its 2020 recruiting class on Wednesday night, as four-star safety Darius Snow gave his verbal commitment to the Spartans.

Snow made his announcement on Wednesday night via Twitter, selecting Michigan State over several big-time programs that extended offers. He received interest from more than two dozen programs, but none were as appealing as Mark Dantonio and Co.

“Life is like a book, one that consists of many chapters; my next segment being college, in all honesty my next chapter — it’s about a home away from home,” Snow wrote. “Michigan State University is my home away from home. I’m still writing my book, but by taking advantage of this phenomenal opportunity, I’m off to a heck of a start.”

Not only is Snow a four-star prospect, he’s also the son of former Michigan State basketball star Eric Snow and the nephew of former Spartans All-American football player Percy Snow.

Snow is listed as one of the top 250 athletes in the 2020 recruiting class, according to 247Sports. He’s also ranked as the No. 31 player out of Texas and the No. 20 safety in the cycle.

The 6-foot, 215-pound Snow is now the highest-rated prospect currently committed to Michigan State’s 2020 class. He’s now the third player to give his verbal pledge to the Spartans.

It’s early in the cycle, but with Snow’s commitment, Michigan State’s 2020 class ranks 45th nationally and 10th in the B1G.
