There may not be a player in the draft whose status has fluctuated more than Dwayne Haskins. He’s been ranked anywhere from the top overall quarterback to the No. 3 gunslinger in the glass and his status has spanned from a top five pick to potentially late in the first round.
Haskins won’t have to wait much longer to see where he stands with the NFL Draft getting underway on Thursday night. And on the morning of the big day, Haskins might be seeing a last-second surge in his stock.
According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapaport, the Oakland Raiders are very interested in Haskins at the No. 4 spot. The former Ohio State quarterback reportedly made quite the move up the draft board this week.
“As the Raiders ponder where to go with their fourth overall pick, worth noting: Oakland brass moved QB Dwayne Haskins up their board late this week, source said,” Rapaport reported. “He impressed them in his workout, and could be a consideration at No. 4.”

Oakland does have Derek Carr at quarterback, but it could be interested in adding reinforcements to the position or potentially begin looking a new direction under center. Carr threw for 4,049 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2019.
Earlier this week, Haskins told First Things First that he believes he’s the best quarterback in the draft, citing his arm strength, accuracy, mentality and leadership.
Haskins’ name has mostly been tied to the New York Giants at No. 6. As a New Jersey native and one of the top quarterbacks in the draft, experts think he would be an excellent replacement for Eli Manning and would work well with Saquon Barkley in the backfield.
But it sounds like the Raiders might interfere with the Giants plans on Thursday night. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait much longer to see where Haskins lands.
