Dre’Mont Jones is headed to the Mile High City.

The former Ohio State defensive tackle was selected by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the NFL Draft on Friday night. He was selected 71st overall and was the fourth Buckeye to be drafted this weekend.

Jones joins fellow B1G star and tight end Noah Fant, who was selected by the Broncos in the first round on Thursday evening.

Jones was a member of Ohio State’s stellar defensive line, often regarded as one of the most talented in the country. In 2018, Jones ranked second on the team in tackles for loss (13) and sacks (8.5). He shared the front line with stars Nick Bosa, Jonathan Cooper, Chase Young and others.

In his first two years with the Buckeyes, Jones was a solid player on the defensive line but seemed to have a breakout year last fall. In his first two years, he totaled nine tackles for loss and just one sack.

With the 49ers having an early third-round pick, some thought Jones might join Bosa in San Francisco. Instead, he’ll be headed to Denver to kickstart his NFL career.
