Penn State saw a second former player selected in the 2019 NFL Draft on Friday, as offensive lineman Connor McGovern was chosen late in the third round.

McGovern was selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the No. 90 pick on Friday night. He was the second Nittany Lion taken that day, behind running back Miles Sanders, who was taken by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round.

In his career at Penn State, McGovern started in 35 of a possible 39 games in three seasons. He made appearances at right guard and center throughout his time in State College. He started in all 26 games over the last two years.

Last year, McGovern started 12 games at right guard and one game at center. In 2017, he started all 13 games under center. At the NFL Combine, the offensive lineman felt like his experience at multiple positions would be an asset to several teams.

McGovern was a third-team All-B1G selection following the 2018 season. The Nittany Lions finished 9-4.
