Making the decision to return to school or declare for the NFL Draft is something several B1G underclassmen go through every single years. This time, there are a few players who left their programs early and went undrafted.

Three early entrants from the B1G went undrafted over the weekend, a number that really isn’t all that high in comparison to other conferences. Still, it was a tough weekend for those three athletes who were hoping to hear their names called in Nashville.

Here’s the list of the three underclassmen who went undrafted this weekend:

  • Kevin Givens, DT, Penn State
  • Ryan Bates, OT, Penn State
  • LJ Scott, RB, Michigan State

Considering that 49 of the 144 early entrants went undrafted this year, the B1G accounted for a really small percentage of the total.

All three undrafted underclassmen did sign free agent NFL contracts, though, and all will get the chance to prove they belong on a professional roster. Here’s who those three players signed free agent contracts with:

  • Kevin Givens: San Francisco 49ers
  • Ryan Bates: Philadelphia Eagles
  • LJ Scott: Baltimore Ravens

Hopefully the three underclassmen can wow their new NFL franchises and solidify themselves on the roster for the 2019 season.
