With spring practice behind us, Vegas is updating its college football odds for the 2019 season.
SuperBook USA has updated its latest Heisman Trophy odds for the upcoming year, and there are several B1G names with good odds to bring home college football’s highest honor.
Leading the way were two quarterbacks, Ohio State’s Justin Fields and Nebraska’s Adrian Martinez, both with 8/1 odds. Those were the third-best odds at this point in the offseason, behind Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa (5/2) and Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence (7/2).
Fields will be in his first season with the Buckeyes in 2019 and Martinez will be a second-year starter in Lincoln.
Behind the two quarterbacks were four other B1G players, but only one other quarterback. Jonathan Taylor was given the best odds among non-quarterbacks at 16/1. Michigan’s Shea Patterson came in with 40/1 odds to bring home the Heisman Trophy. Purdue wide receiver Rondale Moore was listed at 50/1 and Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins has 60/1 odds.
New Heisman odds via @SuperBookUSA:
Tua 5/2
Lawrence 7/2
Fields, Hurts, Martinez 8/1
Taylor 16/1
Ehlinger, Fromm 20/1
Herbert 25/1
Dillon, Etienne, Jeudy, Patterson 40/1
Daniels, R. Moore, Mond 50/1
Bowman, Book, Costello, Dobbins, Ross, Swift 60/1— Brett McMurphy (@Brett_McMurphy) April 30, 2019
While the B1G has produced a handful of Heisman Trophy finalists over the last decade, the conference has not had a player claim the award since Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith won it in 2006.
Could this be the year the B1G is finally home to a Heisman Trophy winner?
