The fight for five-star linebacker Mekhail Sherman comes down to the B1G and SEC.

On Tuesday afternoon, Sherman announced via Twitter that he had narrowed his college options down to two schools, keeping Ohio State and Georgia as his commitment options. The five-star linebackers is one of the most coveted prospects in the 2020 class.

“It’s between Ohio State and Georgia,” Sherman wrote. “No interviews, & I appreciate the coaches for presenting me opportunities & the fan bases which came with them. Appreciate you all.”

Sherman, a Washington DC native, is ranked as the No. 11 overall prospect in the 2020 class and the No. 2 linebacker. Per 247Sports, he’s received nearly three dozen offers, including several from elite programs.

With eight commitments in the 2020 class, Ohio State currently ranks second in the B1G and eighth nationally. Georgia has seven players who have pledged in the cycle, ranking 11th overall and fourth in the B1G.
