A few Nebraska football players showed off their multi-sport abilities over the weekend, taking home titles in track and field.

Defensive end Carlos Davis and wide receiver Jaron Woodyard both took home titles from this weekend’s Nebraska Invite — Davis winning the discuss title and Woodyard claiming the top time in the 200-meter dash, according to 1011Now.com.

Davis was the men’s discuss champion from the weekend, posting a throw of 186-7 feet. Woodyard took home the title in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.42. The two football stars accounted for two of Nebraska’s 18 titles from the event.

On the field, Davis played in all 12 games for the Huskers in 2018, registering 27 tackles and three stops for loss. He also broke up five passes and recorded one sack.

Woodyard appeared in eight games for Nebraska, but made just one catch for 10 yards. He also fielded four kickoffs for 50 yards.

Both Davis and Woodyard are entering their senior seasons with the football program this fall. They’ve racked up some track and field titles before returning to the gridiron.
