Six B1G basketball programs will reportedly head over seas this summer to gain invaluable experience on and off the court.
Jeff Goodman of Stadium reported on Monday morning that there are six teams in the B1G planning foreign trips for the summer. Some of the destinations include Italy, Spain and France, according to the report.
Illinois, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern and Rutgers are the six teams that will be traveling abroad this summer. Below are the dates and locations, as reported by Goodman:
- Illinois — August 4-14 in Italy
- Michigan State — TBD, likely in Spain
- Minnesota — August 3-13 in Italy
- Nebraska — August 3-13 in Italy
- Northwestern — August 19-31 in Italy and France
- Rutgers — August 5-16 in Spain
Big Ten teams heading on foreign trips this summer, per sources:

Michigan State and Minnesota were the only two teams of the six to earn trips to the NCAA Tournament last season. The Gophers and Spartans met in the Round of 32, a game MSU won convincingly.
Michigan State won the B1G regular season and tournament titles and made it to the Final Four in Minneapolis.
Nebraska also made a postseason appearance, playing two games in the NIT. Illinois, Northwestern and Rutgers did not play past the B1G Tournament.
