Report: Freshman RB leaves Purdue football

For the second time this week, Purdue has seen a player depart from the program.
GoldandBlack.com reported on Friday morning that freshman running back Evan Anderson has decided to leave Purdue. According to head coach Jeff Brohm, a devastating family situation may have prompted the departure.
“His mother passed away,” Brohm said. “That set him back, that hurt him. It hurt all of us. It was a bad situation. We felt for him. He missed a lot of school, he missed a lot of practice. I don’t want to put words into his mouth, but his family situation was important to him. It was a rough, rough semester on him–and understandably so.”
Anderson, a native of Suwanee, Georgia, was a member of Purdue’s 2018 recruiting class. He’s a former three-star prospect out of high school, but did not see any game action in his only season in West Lafayette.
Earlier this week, Purdue defensive back Jacob Abrams decided to enter the transfer portal and explore other opportunities.
