Ohio State is still in the running to land four-star defensive tackle Vernon Broughton.

Monday, Broughton announced his top six schools and kept Ohio State in the mix. The Houston, Texas native has an SEC-heavy list, including Alabama, Arkansas, LSU and Texas A&M in the running, as well. Texas was the sixth school.

Broughton is a highly-recruited defensive lineman and is considered one of the top 75 overall players in the 2020 class, per 247Sports. He’s also listed as the No. 5 defensive tackle and the 10th-best player out of Texas.

Ryan Day has done an excellent job on the recruiting trail with the 2020 class, securing commitments from eight prospects. The Buckeyes currently rank 11th nationally and second in the B1G.

Ohio State currently has one pledge from the state of Texas in the 2020 class, as four-star receiver Jaxon Smith-Njiba committed in November 2018.
