Maryland has updated its 2021 and 2022 schedules.

On Friday, Maryland announced that it has added Kent State and SMU to its future schedules. Both opponents will travel to College Park.

The matchup with Kent State will be the first-ever meeting between the Golden Flashes and Terrapins on the field. The game is scheduled for Sept. 25, 2021. That addition gives Maryland two non-conference opponents for the 2021 season. The Terrapins will also host West Virginia on Sept. 4.

Adding SMU to the slate rounds out the 2022 non-conference schedule for the Terrapins. That year, Maryland will start the season with a home game against Buffalo on Sept. 3 and will travel to Charlotte on Sept. 10. The game against the Mustangs will be on Sept. 17.

Maryland and SMU have played twice in the past, meeting in back-to-back seasons in 1961 and 1962. The Terrapins won both games.
