When Kareem Walker decommitted from Ohio State on Tuesday night, there was an assumption made.

The news of the No. 1 2016 running back recruit’s rescinding of his verbal commitment was believed to be the end of his relationship with the Buckeyes. He actually never said that he wasn’t still considering Ohio State, he just wanted to be able to make all of his visits without being tied down to a verbal commitment.

Well, apparently those visits won’t include one to Columbus, as originally planned. After confirming with a source, Cleveland.com’s Ari Wasserman reported that Walker is ‘unlikely’ to visit Ohio State. The New Jersey native still has official visits to make to Alabama, Arizona State and Mississippi.

Walker took an official visit to Michigan, which sparked a controversy of its own.

Ohio State did land four-star running back Antonio Williams, who was originally committed to Wisconsin but joined Urban Meyer’s second-ranked 2016 class following Walker’s Michigan visit last month.
