The B1G will be represented in the College World Series this year.

Sunday night, Michigan battled top-seeded UCLA in a rubber match in the NCAA Super Regional with a trip to the College World Series on the line. The Wolverines posted a 4-2 victory over the Bruins, and will head to Omaha for the first time since 1984.

Tommy Henry allowed two runs in the victory, picking up the win for the Wolverines on the mound.

Michigan was trailing 2-1 in the fifth inning when Ako Thomas brought in two runs with a single, giving the Wolverines a one-run advantage. UM added an extra run for insurance later, but Thomas’ shot proved to be the game-winner.

Sunday night’s matchup was the third game of the Super Regional with the series tied 1-1. Michigan won the first game on Friday night while UCLA took the second contest on Saturday.

The College World Series will begin next Saturday and Michigan will take on Texas Tech. The Wolverines’ last baseball title came in 1962.
