Purdue fans have bought into the future of Boilermakers football under Jeff Brohm. The ticket office in West Lafayette is seeing the benefits.

Gold and Black Illustrated reported that ticket sales for Purdue’s 2019 season are on pace to be the highest in 10 years. Starting this week, season ticket sales were around 21,500. The Boilermakers’ first home game of the year will come on Sept. 7 against Vanderbilt, meaning fans have almost three full months to purchase tickets.

According to the report, Purdue is expecting to sell between 10,000-10,500 student tickets, as well.

“I think we’ll go over 10,000 for student ticket sales,” Brian Fordyce told Gold and Black Illustrated. “We were 10 last year. Our goal is 10,500 this year.”

So far, Purdue’s general public season ticket sales are up near 1,500 from the 2018 season. Upset wins over Ohio State, Iowa and Boston College — as well as the exciting play of Rondale Moore — seems to have sparked plenty of interest for the 2019 campaign.

The Boilermakers have a favorable schedule that would intrigue fans, as well. They’ll open the season against SEC foe Vanderbilt before taking on Big 12 power TCU the following week. Purdue then hosts five B1G games, including Minnesota, Maryland, Illinois, Nebraska and in-state rival Indiana.

Purdue’s highest season ticket total this decade came in 2010, when the program sold 23,102 tickets.

Purdue is 13-13 in two years under Brohm, earning back-to-back trips to bowl games. Last year, the Boilermakers finished the season 6-7, which included a trip to the Music City Bowl in Nashville.
