In the College World Series, players are putting it all on the line. That includes Michigan 2nd baseman Ako Thomas.

Michigan was holding a 4-2 advantage in the bottom of the 5th with Texas Tech having a runner at 2nd base. The Red Raiders appeared to have a guaranteed hit that would’ve at least moved the runner to 3rd, if not driven him home.

But Thomas got a good jump on the hit, laid out and made a spectacular catch to keep the runner at bay. It’s early, but it could end up as one of the top plays from the College World Series in Day 1:

That play from Thomas probably saved at least a run and has kept the Wolverines in the lead in Omaha.
