An Iowa offensive lineman had a run-in with law enforcement over the weekend, after visiting a local bar, according to a report.

On Sunday, 1630 KCJJ in Iowa City reported that Hawkeyes starting right tackle Tristan Wirfs was cited by police for ‘Presence on Premises After Hours.’ According to the report, Wirfs, 20, was in the bar after 10 p.m.

The citation is a “a simple misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $250.” He was one of six people cited at the bar.

This citation marks the second offseason in which Wirfs has had a run-in with law enforcement. Last season, the Iowa offensive lineman was handed a one-game suspension by head coach Kirk Ferentz for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. Wirfs was suspended for the Hawkeyes’ season opener against Northern Illinois.

As of right now, there’s no indication that Wirfs will face a punishment, though it is a possibility. Iowa opens the 2019 season against Miami (OH) on Saturday, Aug. 31.

Wirfs started at right tackle in 12 of Iowa’s 13 games last season as a sophomore, with his only absence coming in the season opener. He was an All-B1G honorable mention.
