Purdue dipped into SEC territory to get its latest addition, a hard-hitting linebacker out of Georgia.
Saturday morning, the Boilermakers received a verbal commitment from three-star linebacker Kyrdran Jenkins out of Louisville, Georgia. He is the 12th player to pledge to Purdue in the 2020 class.
Jenkins is a good-sized linebacker, with a frame of 6-foot-2, 230 pounds. He’s also known as a hart hitter among the recruiting world, as 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong said Jenkins registered four forced fumbles in his junior season. He also has touchdowns in punt and kickoff returns.

Jenkins is listed as one of the top 50 inside linebackers in the 2020 class. He received nine offers outside of Purdue, including Missouri, Navy, Kent State and Appalachian State.
Jeff Brohm and his staff haven’t landed many commitments from players out of the South so far this recruiting cycle. Jenkins is just the third player out of the area to join the Boilermakers.
With the latest commitment, Purdue now has the 40th-ranked recruiting class nationally and sits ninth in the B1G.
