The number of talented wide receivers committing to Ohio State continues to increase. On Monday, the Buckeyes added another elite member to its 2020 class.
Four-star Missouri wide receiver Mookie Cooper verbally committed to the Buckeyes on Monday afternoon. He’s the fifth receiver to join Ohio State’s class and is the 20th pledge in the cycle.
Cooper announced his decision via a video he posted on Twitter.

Cooper, a St. Louis native, is listed as the No. 11 receiver in the 2020 class via 247Sports. He’s also the second-highest ranked player out of Missouri and comes in at No. 64 overall. He’s the seventh Top 100 prospect in the Buckeyes’ loaded class.
According to 247Sports, Cooper posted a 4.49 time in the 40-yard dash at The Opening Regional in April. His vertical was nearly 36 inches. To say he brings incredible speed and athleticism to Columbus is a major understatement.
Several teams showed interest in the 5-foot-9, 195-pound receiver. He picked Ohio State over offers from Texas, USC, Illinois and Miami, among several other programs.
Ohio State still sits at No. 4 in the national recruiting rankings, but is closing in on LSU and Alabama. The Tigers have the No. 3 class while the Crimson Tide are at No. 2 but Clemson still has a large advantage in the No. 1 spot.
The Buckeyes own the B1G’s highest-ranked class.
