Prior to the start of Big Ten Media Days, Jim Harbaugh hopped on a podcast with The Athletic’s Tim Kawakami.
During the podcast, Harbaugh called out Meyer for the way he left Ohio State and Florida in controversy. Now, Harbaugh is known to speak his mind, but this is a rich comment, especially making it a year after Meyer retired from Ohio State. We don’t need to remind everyone that Meyer finished undefeated against Michigan during his career (7-0).
“Urban Meyer’s had a winning record,” Harbaugh said. “Really phenomenal record everywhere he’s been. But also, controversy follows everywhere he’s been.”
Yes, these are strong statements, even if he’s not wrong. It’s just unusual to call out another coach like that.

Of course, the quote went viral on social media, and below is the reaction of Meyer’s wife, Shelley.
Wow.

It’ll be very interesting to see if Meyer comes out publicly and comments on it.
