Former SEC football player arrested in connection with three killings in Louisiana

A former college football player has been arrested in connection with three Louisiana killings, according to a report from AL.com.
Sean Barrette, who played football at Mississippi State, South Alabama and Southeastern Louisiana State, is accused of killing three people and is currently being held without bond. The killings occurred in Jefferson Parish in June, according to the report.
He’s also suspected to be involved with other shootings that occurred in the area.
When Barrette was arrested, police discovered a .40 caliber loaded pistol and ammunition receipts in his home.

Barrette is being charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of second-degree murder, three counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of obstruction of justice and aggravated criminal damage to property.
He also was twice committed to mental health facilities in recent months.
A motive is unknown behind the killings.
Barrette was a walk-on at Mississippi State in 2015 but did not play.
