Three Maryland players were removed from the team’s playing roster as of Monday evening as a result of medical issues.
According to Josh Stirn with 247 Sports, head coach Mike Locksley announced that wide receiver Chris Jones, linebacker Nnamdi Egbuaba, and defensive tackle Cam Spence were given medical disqualifications. As such, the players are not a part of the playing roster and will not count against Maryland’s limit of 85 scholarships.
It is always tough to see a young players career end due to health reasons. Unfortunately, it happens all too often.
Locksley did speak highly of each player while noting that Spence and Jones will continue to work with the team as student assistants.
