Take care of home field.

It’s a simple philosophy that every coach preaches to his players. It’s also what fans want to see every season. Every B1G stadium is tough to win in, so beating teams on your own turf is of the most importance in the conference.

Since the College Football Playoff era and the B1G’s expansion to 14 teams, some programs have done a little better job of protecting home field that others.

Over the last five seasons, some teams have been almost unbeatable at home. Other squads have scraped by in front of their own fans. But which teams have performed the best from 2014-2018 in their home stadiums?

We broke down the records below:

  1. Ohio State — 32-3 (.914)
  2. Wisconsin — 29-5 (.853)
  3. Penn State — 28-7 (.800)
  4. Michigan — 28-7 (.800)
  5. Iowa — 25-10 (.714)
  6. Michigan State — 25-10 (.714)
  7. Minnesota — 24-11 (.686)
  8. Nebraska — 22-13 (.629)
  9. Northwestern — 20-15 (.571)
  10. Illinois — 16-17 (.485)
  11. Indiana — 16-17 (.485)
  12. Maryland — 13-17 (.433)
  13. Purdue — 13-21 (.382)
  14. Rutgers — 12-22 (.353)
