‘I didn’t know he was this good’: Jay Gruden lauds over ex-Buckeye WR Terry McLaurin

A lot of NFL teams may be regretting they passed on Terry McLaurin. If you believe what Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden is saying, the former Ohio State receiver will soon be a household name.
It’s early in his career, but already McLaurin is turning heads in Redskins camp. Gruden even said the former Buckeyes his having an “amazing” August and has been turning some heads.
“I didn’t know he was this good,” Gruden said in a SiriusXM Radio interview. “He’s a powerful, explosive player. He can really run. He’s detailed in his work. He’s very smart. He knows both outside positions and special teams guys can’t get enough of him. Now he’s this good at wide receiver, I’m like ‘hey, hold back on special teams now.’ He has been, actually, one of our better players in camp.”

McLaurin was selected in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and it sounds like he’ll be breaking a lot of hearts on the field, even as early as this season.
While in Columbus, McLaurin totaled 75 receptions for 1,251 yards and 19 touchdowns. Last season, he had 701 yards and 11 touchdowns on 35 catches.
