Mike Locksley uses two QBs with first-team offense during Maryland scrimmage

Like several other B1G programs right now, Maryland is still trying to figure out its quarterback situation.
On Saturday, the Terrapins held another scrimmage with the regular season just two weeks away. Quarterbacks Josh Jackson and Tyrell Pigrome split reps, according to Don Markus of the Washington Post. True Freshman Lance LeGendre also saw live action on Saturday.
It’s not clear whether the split was 50/50, but it looks like there’s still somewhat of a battle for the job going on in College Park.

Jackson has been the talk of the town since transferring from Virginia Tech. The former Hokies starter is a good dual-threat option and is capable of leading the Terps’ offense.
Pigrome has the experience at Maryland, appearing in 23 career games over the last three years. However, in a new system under Mike Locksley, that experience essentially puts he and Jackson in the same scenario.

Perhaps that’s why there’s still a battle for the top spot.
Maryland will open the season against Maryland. We’ll see if Locksley plans to name a starter sometime before gameday.
