When it comes to consistency, Kirk Ferentz is one of the most consistent coaches around.

Ferentz has been leading the Hawkeyes since 1999, and he has produced quite a stretch of success. He is coming off a 9-4 season and a win in the Outback Bowl in 2018, but the goal is much higher this season. A wide-open B1G West is up for grabs with the Hawkeyes one of many teams with a legitimate chance to win it.

During the BTN Bus Tour, quarterback Nate Stanley was asked about playing for the long-time leader of the Hawkeyes. Stanley admitted he loves playing for Ferentz because of his consistency. He simply demands the same high standard of himself and his players every day:

“Just the message that he preaches on a daily basis,” explained Stanley. “We know what to expect every single day from him, and he holds us to that same level. Just the consistency he brings with his personality.”

In terms of consistency, the Hawkeyes will be in for a big year if Stanley takes another step forward in the passing game. He did complete 59.3% of passes with 2,852 yards and 26 TDs, but 10 interceptions held him back overall. If Stanley cuts down the turnovers, Iowa could really make things interesting in the B1G West.
