Michigan fans aren’t exactly thrilled about the targeting rule.
Joe Bolden was ejected against Michigan State on a play in which he was pushed into Connor Cook.
So when Jake Rudock was drilled by Anthony Zettell on Saturday, it appeared the the Wolverines were going to get one back. Initially, the officials ruled targeting, which would’ve meant the Lions’ best defensive player would be out for the rest of the game and the first half of next week’s game against Michigan State.
Instead, they overruled the call on the field. It was still a roughing call, but Zettel was allowed to stay in the game.
