After wrapping up a practice at the Tom Oxley Athletic Campus on FAU’s campus, some of the Owls players were very complimentary of their week one opponent, Ohio State.

Senior tight end Harrison Bryant said the Buckeyes are probably the best team he has played in his life.

Redshirt sophomore quarterback Chris Robison echoed his teammate’s sentiments:

A four-star prospect in the 2017 cycle, Robison ironically originally enrolled at Oklahoma. He participated in the team’s spring game but was dismissed from the program in August 2017.

He started 11 games for FAU last year, throwing for 2,540 yards, 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Robison was, however, suspended for all of spring ball as the university investigated an off-field incident. He was cleared to return in July, but a quarterback competition has been underway.

Just four days prior to the season-opener, neither head coach Lane Kiffin or Robison are tipping their hand on who will start.

For their part, the Buckeyes seem to live up to the billing. Ranked No. 5 in the AP Poll, the Buckeyes have an explosive dual-threat quarterback, Georgia transfer Justin Fields, and one of the nation’s best running backs, J.K. Dobbins.

The team does have to replace Nick Bosa and Dre’Mont Jones on the defensive line, but returns junior Chase Young, one of the conference’s best pass-rushers.

The Buckeyes and Owls will kick it off at Ohio Stadium at 12:00PM ET on Saturday.
