WATCH: Scott Frost talks about mother’s Nebraska Hall of Fame induction

The mother of Nebraska Cornhuskers head coach Scott Frost, Carol Frost (nee Moseke) will be inducted into the Nebraska Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, August 30. One of seven inductees, Carol and the rest of the group will be recognized during Saturday’s season-opener vs. South Alabama.
A native of Cedar Rapids, NE, Carol did not compete as a student-athlete for the Cornhuskers as she attended the university before women’s athletics earned varsity status. She won the gold medal in the discus throw at the 1968 Summer Olympics as a 23-year-old, and returned to Lincoln to coach the women’s track and field team from 1977-80.
The second-year coach spoke about how proud he is of his mother:
"Mom is the best athlete in the family. She might be the best coach in the family."

Not too shabby of a coach himself, Frost’s Cornhuskers won four of their final six games in 2018 after a rough start.
The 2019 team begins the season ranked No. 24 in the Associated Press Poll and returns sophomore quarterback Adrian Martinez, a sleeper Heisman Trophy pick.
A September 7 trip to Boulder to face the Colorado Buffaloes could be tricky, but Nebraska’s early-season schedules sets up favorably. Rounding out non-conference play with Northern Illinois and beginning B1G play with the Illinois Fighting Illini, the Cornhuskers could be 4-1 or 5-0 headed into their September 28 showdown with Ohio State at Memorial Stadium.
