Minnesota’s 2019 season is here and South Dakota State is the Golden Gophers’ first opponent.
The first quarter went scoreless, but the Gophers — and wide receiver Rashod Bateman in particular — have come alive in the second.

Bateman now has 5 catches for 132 yards and a TD at halftime. The first TD drive for Minnesota was an old school, beautiful type of 18-play drive.
This second scoring drive wasn’t as long. But, it probably contained more beauty thanks to that catch.
