In the 2018 College Football Playoff, the season ended when Clemson thumped Alabama 44-16.

Prior to the Tigers winning yet another national championship for head coach Dabo Swinney, Clemson had to get past Notre Dame first. That was never an issue.

The Tigers drilled the Fighting Irish as well, winning 30-3 in the College Football Playoff semifinal. To that, Paul Finebaum was asked on ESPN’s First Take about Notre Dame and its chances for making the CFB Playoff again this season.

His answer was more than just a “yes” or “no.”

Not only does Finebaum say that the Irish won’t make the playoff this season or that they should never even make the playoff again thanks to last season, but he says they should receive a five-year probation because of the 27-point loss.

OK, there may be a bit of an exaggeration here. At least we think.
