Former Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott held out this summer for a bigger contract. It sounds as though he’s going to get exactly what he wants.

Elliot and the Dallas Cowboys are reportedly closing in on a six-year, $90 million contract extension, according to Pro Football Talk. The new deal will come with an average annual salary of $15 million, and because Elliott still has two years left on his rookie contract, it will keep him in Dallas through the 2026 season.

There are no indications yet how much of the $90 million will be guaranteed, which is obviously a huge stipulation when it comes to NFL contracts.

Maybe most importantly, this also means Elliott will dress in Sunday’s season opener against the New York Giants. Elliott will practice Tuesday.

The former Ohio State running back leads the NFL with 101.2 rushing yards per game since he entered the league in 2016. With him in the lineup, Dallas owns a 28-12 regular season record.
