Ohio State defensive line coach calls Cincinnati ‘really a Big Ten team’

Ohio State will face its second straight non-Power 5 opponent to open the 2019 season, but don’t think for one second the Buckeyes aren’t taking their competition seriously.
On Tuesday, Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson called Cincinnati “really a Big Ten team” because of their ability to run a physical power-run game on offense.

Cincinnati finished fourth in rushing offense with about 240 rushing yards per game last season. In Week 1, the Bearcats struggled a bit on the ground, running for 175 yards and just 3.6 yards per carry, but they did beat UCLA, 24-14.
Ohio State held Florida Atlantic to negative rushing yards into the second half during Week 1. The Buckeyes finished yielding 22 yards on the ground and a whopping 0.67 yards per carry.
The Buckeyes and Bearcats will square off in Week 2 at noon ET on Saturday.
