Mike Locksley coins an awesome new nickname for Maryland Stadium

In Week 1, Maryland hosted and destroyed Howard 79-0.

For Week 2, the Terrapins are hosting Syracuse and hope to destroy the Orange as well. At Maryland Stadium, anything is possible.
And according to coach Mike Locksley, if the Terps can keep dominating opponents, that might help people come out to “The Shell” and watch them play.
That’s right. Locksley is calling Maryland Stadium “The Shell.”

Realistically, this is both funny and pretty clever. The Terrapins are a species of turtle. Turtles, of course, have shells.
If you want to beat Maryland and you’re the visiting team, prepare for a tough battle.
A battle at a place that shall now be known as, “The Shell.”
