Urban Meyer after Michigan win: “I wouldn’t even watch the film”

FOX Sports analyst Urban Meyer had a blunt assessment following Michigan’s 24-21 win over Army in double overtime, “I wouldn’t even watch the film.”

While Michigan did ultimately improve to 2-0, it is not difficult to see Meyer’s reasoning; there were plenty of concerning signs for the Wolverines on Saturday.

Fumbling four times, Michigan lost three of them, including two by senior quarterback Shea Patterson. The Wolverines also committed nine penalties and averaged just 2.4 yards per rush.

Redshirt sophomore Dylan McCaffrey, whom Meyer spoke highly of on the Big Ten Network on Friday, played just one snap – an incomplete pass.

In his first season with FOX Sports, Meyer was the head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes from 2012-18. Winning the inaugural College Football Playoff in 2014, he went 83-9 (.902%) in his seven years at Ohio State.

Idle on Saturday, September 14, Michigan will have an extra week to prepare for their September 21 showdown with the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison.
