What some anticipated being a close game on Saturday never materialized.
Ohio State took on Luke Fickell’s Cincinnati squad in The Horseshoe, and the Buckeyes were not playing around in the contest. Quarterback Justin Fields and the OSU offense were nearly flawless in the first half, establishing a 28-0 halftime lead before cruising to a 42-0 shutout.
Defensively, it was a great performance for the Buckeyes as the Bearcats were limited to 273 yards of total offense with a 3-for-14 conversion rate on third downs. Ohio State also grabbed two turnovers.
