Colorado staffer after Nebraska lost on the road: ‘That’s an altitude game’

On Saturday, Nebraska blew a 17-0 lead at halftime against Colorado.
Many Huskers took blame for it — coach Scott Frost being one of them. Frost had said throughout the week that the altitude issue of playing Colorado at Colorado wouldn’t be an issue at all.

Was it? Did Nebraska fold in the second half because it was tired when the Buffaloes — who are used to the altitude — weren’t? We’ll never truly know, but on Sunday morning, a Colorado staffer had this to say:
TFTR: A CU staffer who’s been working games at Folsom Field for 35 years told me “That’s an altitude game.” Says every so often he sees a team get gassed resulting in a loss

Again, Nebraska may have been gassed, which led to the second half debacle. Colorado may have had the hypothetical home-field advantage, but even the broadcast booth mentioned how it looked like — and sounded like — a Nebraska home-field advantage, not Colorado.
In the second half and in overtime, the Buffaloes outscored the Huskers 34-14. Coincidence?
Maybe.
