Justin Fields is leading the nation in key passing statistic through Week 2

Justin Fields is off to an electric start, and he is leading the nation in one key passing statistic following Week 2.

The standard numbers are impressive enough for Fields. He has completed 38 of 50 passes for 458 yards and 6 TDs. That is good enough for a 76% completion percentage without an interception. A true dual-threat quarterback, Fields has also chipped in 103 rushing yards with three more touchdowns.

Everyone knew Fields was an elite athlete coming into Columbus after transferring from Georgia, but some questioned how he would look as a passer. Well, through two games, he has certainly quieted that talk considerably.

In addition to his standard numbers, Fields is leading the nation in adjusted completion percentage at 90.9%. The statistic measures a quarterback’s accuracy “without incompletions caused by external factors,” such as drops.

Obviously, Fields’ toughest tests are yet to come with B1G play beginning in Week 3 against Indiana. But it sure looks like Fields is destined for a special and spectacular season leading the Buckeyes.
