A former Northwestern quarterback is about to be back in a starting role in the NFL.

On Thursday morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Trevor Siemian is expected to be the starter for the New York Jets on Monday night. He will be replacing Sam Darnold, who will miss this week’s game.

The Jets host the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football.

Siemian isn’t new to the starting role in the NFL. He was a frequent starter with the Denver Broncos, making 24 career starts with the franchise. He’s thrown for 5,686 yards and 30 touchdowns with 24 interceptions, and is 13-11 as a starter.

His last start in the NFL came in 2017.

Both the Jets and the Browns are 0-1 heading into the Monday night matchup.
