Urban Meyer explains how he would coach Maryland after hot start to 2019 season

Maryland football couldn’t have asked for a better start to the 2019 season. The Terrapins scored 142 points in their first two games, which is tied for the third-most in college football history. Furthermore, the defense allowed just 20 points in the first two contests combined.
While Maryland could do no wrong through two weeks, Urban Meyer explained Thursday it’s in those situations that coaches need to be hardest on their teams.
“That’s when I’ve always been hardest on staffs and players,” Meyer said on Big Ten Network. “Lou Holtz used to say it best, ‘you make a mistake when you jump all over your team when you lose.’ That’s when your team is fragile.
“The way I would do it, I would be very hard on them (Maryland players) in practice and try to de-recruit them, as you say. Everyone is telling them how good they are. Honestly, they played a ranked Syracuse team, and they’re good, but they’ve got a long way to go.”
Just another interesting tidbit from Meyer, who seems to be quickly becoming a strong college football analyst.
Maryland will visit Temple this Saturday and then begin the BIG schedule with a home matchup against Penn State.
