Seeing an FCS school defeat an FBS school was once unheard of in college football. Now, it seems to be a regular occurrence.
It happened again this week in the ACC. Georgia Tech hosted The Citadel on Saturday, expecting to get an easy win. Instead, the Yellow Jackets suffered an embarrassing loss, falling on field goal in overtime.
Georgia Tech entered the game as a four-touchdown (27 points) favorite over The Citadel, but the Bulldogs controlled the game pretty much from the start. The Citadel never trailed, and the Yellow Jackets needed a last-second field goal to send the game to overtime at 24-24.
After a missed Georgia Tech field goal attempt in overtime, The Citadel’s Jacob Godek knocked down a 37-yard attempt to give the Bulldogs a 27-24 victory.
