J.K. Dobbins is a junior running back at Ohio State.

Over his first two seasons, Dobbins has shown great ability. He ran for 1,285 yards and 13 TDs those first two seasons, showing productivity.

He hasn’t been the bell cow back, though. He’s always had to share duties. But 2019 has been different.

On Saturday against Indiana in Ohio State’s first Big Ten game of the season, he got to carry the load. Dobbins totaled 193 yards on the ground on 22 carries.

“They think I can carry the load,” Dobbins said, “which I think I can as well.”

Dobbins knows that the Buckeyes are leaning on him now to lead the team on the ground. And he’s loving it.

“Coach Day always challenges me,” Dobbins said. “That’s why I love him so much.”

People know the phrase, “Feed Zeke.” It refers to former Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott. He has gone on to do impressive things in the NFL since his time in Columbus.

But while in Columbus, maybe there should be a popular phrase of, “Feed Dobbins.”

Different ring to it, I know. It’s not as catchy. But if Dobbins continues to run like this for the Buckeyes, he may be the driving force of why Ohio State gets to a College Football Playoff once again.
