The first of many tests for Michigan this season begins on Saturday, as the No. 11 Wolverines travel to Madison to take on No. 13 Wisconsin in the B1G opener for both games. And this week, Jim Harbaugh and his squad will be in somewhat unfamiliar territory.

Yes, Michigan has traveled to Wisconsin before, but currently, the Badgers are three-point favorite in the head-to-head matchup on Saturday. According to MLive.com, it’s the first time since 2017 the Wolverines have been an underdog.

Last season, Michigan was a favorite in every game. Before the 2019 season kicked off, the Wolverines were favored in every single game by Vegas in the early released spreads.

Per MLive.com, Michigan being the underdog in a game isn’t exactly positive news. The Wolverines have dropped 13-straight games when the opponent is favored, with the last victory coming in 2013 against Northwestern. They’ve dropped 19 of their last 20 as underdogs.

Michigan was last a 12.5 underdog against Ohio State in the 2017 season finale in Ann Arbor. Both Michigan and Wisconsin enter Saturday’s game 2-0.
