Recruiting is non-stop.

It’s hard for coaches to get out and travel each and every week while the college football season is going on, but with in-state recruits, it can be a bit easier. The travel time is less, which is a huge factor.

And over the weekend, Purdue got its first commitment for the Class of 2021 with in-state WR Preston Terrell:

As Terrell said in his tweet, he is staying home. Terrell, a 6-foot-3 pass-catcher, isn’t rated by 247Sports, but is from Brownsburg, Ind. From a national recruiting basis, he ranks as the No. 6 player in the state of Indiana for his class and the No. 57 WR.

Again, he is Purdue’s first 2021 commit and with that, the Boilermakers’ class — according to 247Sports — ranks No. 30 nationally and No. 7 in the Big Ten. It’s for 2021, so it’s early, but getting that first recruit to commit is always an awesome feeling.

Terrell currently has scholarship offers from Akron, Ball State and Indiana State.
