ESPN’s FPI predicts outcome of Michigan State’s remaining games after Week 3

The heartbreaking loss to Arizona State derailed what was shaping up to be a nice start to the 2019 season for the Spartans.
Michigan State was coming off its best offensive output in quite sometime when the Sundevils rolled into East Lansing. Unfortunately, the offense was unable to replicate those results in a disappointing 10-7 loss.
Thankfully, the loss does not affect the B1G standings, but it is an early blemish that should have been a win. But as the Spartans head into conference play this weekend, the team will hope to play a role in the B1G East race moving forward.

Coming out of Week 3, the loss to Arizona State shuffled ESPN’s FPI for Michigan State. However, the Spartans are still favored in a number of contests and will be looking to pull the upset in a few others.
Here is how the rest of the schedule looks in terms of win probability, according to the FPI:
- Sept. 21 @ Northwestern – 77.6%
- Sept. 28 vs Indiana – 86.5%
- Oct. 5 @ Ohio State – 18.2%
- Oct. 12 @ Wisconsin – 28.5%
- Oct. 26 vs Penn State – 51.5%
- Nov. 9 vs Illinois – 94.1%
- Nov. 16 @ Michigan – 37.1%
- Nov. 23 @ Rutgers – 91.3%
- Nov. 30 vs Maryland – 73.4%
