Falling to the No. 13 Wisconsin Badgers, 35-14, on Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, the No. 11 Michigan Wolverines can kiss any College Football Playoff hopes they had goodbye.
Committing four turnovers, senior quarterback Shea Patterson fumbled and threw an interception and junior defensive end/fullback Ben Mason put the ball on the turf on 2nd & Goal in the first quarter. Redshirt freshman Joe Milton threw the team’s second interception on the Wolverines’ final drive with 1:20 remaining.
Allowing over six yards per rush, Heisman Trophy candidate Jonathan Taylor led the Badgers with 203 yards and two scores on the ground. Battling cramps throughout the afternoon, he registered 143 of his rushing yards in the first quarter.
Thanks to his two scores, one from 1-yard and the other from 72, Taylor, a junior from Salem, New Jersey, now has an FBS-high 10 touchdowns in 2019.
Even Joe Thomas, a two-time All-Big Ten selection (2005-06), unanimous All-American and Outland Trophy winner at Wisconsin from 2003-06, was surprised by the activity of Michigan Football’s Twitter account during the game:
Chalk this up under the, “I didn’t see that coming” column 😂😂 even @UMichFootball is frustrated with their teams’ play today!!! pic.twitter.com/Hx0Kwi2TcD

Now 2-1 on the season, Michigan will look to rebound when they host the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (1-2) on September 28 (12:00PM ET, BTN).
Very likely to move into the top-10, Wisconsin (3-0) plays Northwestern (1-2) on Sept. 28 (12:00PM ET, ABC).
