Nebraska players respond to learning College GameDay is coming to Lincoln for matchup with Ohio State

For the seventh time, ESPN’s College GameDay will be headed to Lincoln for the Nebraska Cornhuskers’ date with the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday. This is the popular show’s first trip to the Nebraska campus since the Huskers lost to then-No. 1 USC in 2007.
“I’ve never experienced that, but I’ve always dreamed of having it in Lincoln,” redshirt senior running back Wyatt Mazour told Husker247.
“It’s going to be awesome. I’m sure the fans will make it one of the best (GameDay settings) of the year. It will be a tough matchup with Ohio State, but we’re ready for them.
“We’re ready for anybody and we feel like we can beat anybody in the country as long as we execute our plays and move efficiently. I’m stoked for the game and for it to be a night game.”
Rolling Miami (Ohio), 76-5, on Saturday, the Ohio State Buckeyes have looked about as impressive as possible. Sophomore quarterback Justin Fields racked up six touchdowns in the second quarter alone vs. the RedHawks. Completing 69.5% of his passes on the season, Fields has thrown for 880 yards, 13 touchdowns and zero interceptions.
“This is a great opportunity for the program,” redshirt senior linebacker Mohamed Barry said.
“The momentum that we could possess, what we could do for this program … just getting this win could do so much.”
Elected one of their team captains by his teammates, Barry is the Huskers’ emotional leader on defense. Posting 112 tackles in 2018, he is on his way to matching that production in 2019 with 33 tackles in Nebraska’s first four games.
Nebraska (3-1) vs. Ohio State (4-0) from Memorial Stadium will kick at 7:30PM ET on Saturday and will be televised on ABC.
