Tim Brando calls Michigan ‘pretender,’ says three SEC teams could make College Football Playoff

College football broadcaster Tim Brando didn’t have anything good to say about Michigan football on Monday. To be fair, not many people do, but Brando also seemed to discredit football north of the Mason Dixon line and west of the Mississippi in his latest “On Brando” segment.

Brando went so far with his praise of Alabama, Georgia and LSU that he proposed the scenario where the SEC could get three playoff teams this year.

Part of his reasoning for why that’s possible is because of Michigan’s poor play at Wisconsin. Brando called Michigan “the most disappointing team in the country” and said they got “their doors blown off” by the Badgers. Brando added that the “Michigan situation is only going to get worse before it gets better.”

Unfortunately for Michigan, none of that is outrageous, but then Brando lumped Notre Dame into the “pretenders” category with Michigan despite the fact the Fighting Irish only lost by six to No. 3 Georgia on the road.

According to Brando, that six-point win was a dominating performance for Georgia even though the Bulldogs were favored by more than two touchdowns. Because that win and the impressive victories for Alabama and LSU, Brando says it’s possible all three SEC teams make the College Football Playoff this winter.

Maybe someone should tell Brando that Alabama and LSU beating Southern Miss and Vanderbilt, respectively, aren’t exactly resume-building wins. Or maybe someone should let him know that there’s this other Big Ten team, Ohio State, who’s thumping opponents.

One of Brando’s reasons for a three-team SEC playoff is because Texas will run through the Big 12, and LSU has a key road win against the Longhorns. True, but it’s actually the 3-0 Oklahoma Sooners who have won the last four Big 12 titles. Maybe he forgot about the Sooners too.

But check out Brando’s newest “On Brando” for yourself:
