Sophomore quarterback Artur Sitkowski played extremely well in his return to the starting role behind center against Boston College last week. For that performance, he’s earned more playing time.
Rutgers coach Chris Ash revealed in his teleconference Monday that Sitkowski will start again this Saturday against Michigan.
Against Boston College on Saturday, Sitkowski went 23-for-33 through the air with 304 yards and one touchdown with one interception. Rutgers played relatively well but lost 30-16.
Sitkowski appeared in 11 games as a freshman last year, but he’s received competition from graduate transfer quarterback McLane Carter this season. Carter started at Texas Tech and played most of the first two games this season.
Carter has completed 57.4 percent of his passes for 368 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions this year. Sitkowski has a 61.4 completion percentage with 323 yards, one touchdown and two picks.
Rutgers will visit Ann Arbor at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday.
