Michigan State has won nine of the last 10 matchups against Indiana, but that didn’t stop Spartans coach Mark Dantonio from being highly complimentary of Indiana’s coaching staff during his press conference Tuesday.
Dantonio praised his Hoosiers head coach Tom Allen and offensive coordinator Kalen DeBoer, saying the team “has always been very competitive.” He added that DeBoer has been a strong playcaller for the team too.
Dantonio says Indiana "has always been a very competitive team" under both Kevin Wilson and now Tom Allen. "You can see (Allen's) fingerprints on the defense."

Allen actually beat Dantonio and the Spartans in his first season during 2016, but Michigan State has won the last two matchups, but Indiana’s previous head coach, Kevin Wilson, went 0-5 against Dantonio.
DeBoer became Indiana’s offensive coordinator this season. Through four weeks, the Hoosiers offense is ranked sixth in yards and eighth in scoring in the Big Ten.
